How Does Moroccan Argan Oil Help Hair?

Moroccan Argan oil is extracted from the crushed fruit kernels of the Argan tree, native to Morocco. Containing vitamin E, powerful antioxidants, and multiple fatty acids, this natural moisturizer has been used for centuries by Moroccan women as part of their beauty regimen. Its moisturizing effects on the skin have made it a recently popular product for women throughout the world and its numerous benefits for hair are outstanding.

Hair is damaged on a daily basis from the use of harsh, chemical laden shampoos, blow drying, and heat styling. The weather can damage your locks as well, from sun and wind to salty air and humidity. Heating your home with dry heat can also dry out your tresses, and dry hair is more brittle and prone to damage. All of these can leave you with dull, lifeless locks full of split ends. Argan oil, similar to Jojoba oil, restores moisture, smoothness, and shine, undoing the damage and offering protection from future damage. Used before shampooing or as a finish to your styling routine, your moisturized locks will look healthy and beautiful.

How It Works

The vitamin E and other moisturizing ingredients seal in moisture to give hair a lustrous, sleek and smooth finish full of shine. Hair that is dry or coarse will immediately benefit from the fatty acids and vitamin E, making hair softer, easier to manage, and healthier looking. The moisturizing formula helps repel dirt and other elements, and it reduces the time needed to blow dry, further improving the look and feel of your tresses. The antioxidants will repair damage already done, and they help to reduce further damage from the sun and the elements. The moisturizing fatty acids make hair softer and suppler, reducing the occurrence of split ends and breakage that can occur to dry, brittle strands. The formula is beneficial for every hair type, from coarse, ethnic curls to fine or oily tresses.

How To Use

Using Moroccan Argan oil prior to shampooing two or three times a week will help seal moisture into the cuticle of your hair, helping to prevent damage from the styling methods and products you use weekly. It also makes an excellent treatment for dry hair. For dry to normal hair, apply a handful of the oil and massage it into your scalp and roots, and then rub it gently through to the ends of your strands. Place a shower cap over your locks and leave on for at least five minutes. Rinse with warm water and then wash your hair using a mild shampoo. For oily hair, apply a couple of drops to the scalp and rub in, and then add a few drops to the ends and gently massage; follow the remainder of the directions above.

To prevent damage to your locks during the day and to provide beautiful shine and bounce, apply the product after shampooing. Massage a few drops through your scalp and down the length of your strands, and then gently comb through. Style as normal, but don’t add any other type of styling product. To add a daily boost of moisture to curls, apply Argan oil to the ends only, where the natural oils from your scalp have difficulty reaching. We recommended Argan oil from Nourish or Agadir.
