Useful tips for Dry Hair
When you have dry and frizzy hair, bad hair days would seem to be visiting you more frequently. A simple change of routine can at times help you banish bad hair days and enjoy more good hair days. Conditioning
Conditioning is of utmost importance for Dry and Frizzy hair because conditioners help the hair’s cuticle stay down. A number of conditioners are available in the market but you should be looking for specific products for dry hair or frizzy hair. These conditioners are normally thicker as compared to the conditioners for normal or fine hair. The composition of the dry hair conditioners is such that it weighs the hair down to an extent and smooths the cuticle. Usually the rinse-out conditioners are inexpensive and can be found next to the shampoos on the store shelves. When you have dry hair, the best way is to comb he conditioner through in the shower and rinse without disturbing.
Dry hair conditioners with dry hair shampoos
Generally, shampoo for dry hair and dry hair conditioners come paired. The shampoos have emollient content in them so that it is gentler on hair when compare to the traditional shampoos. Shampooing should not strip the hair of its natural oils and you should avoid frequent shampooing for the same reason. Once, or at best twice a week shampooing is recommended for those with dry hair.
Conditioner washing
Conditioner washing can be employed to cleanse your hair whenever there is a need. By just wetting your hair, you can comb the conditioner through thoroughly and then rinse. Those of you who exercise frequently should find this practice helpful to wash out the perspiration from your scalp while not allowing the hair to go dry.
Damaged hair
For hair that has already suffered some degree of damage, a re-constructive deep conditioner should be in order. These conditioners are usually mud-like in texture and can be safely left on the hair for as little as a minute to as much as one hour or so. A plastic cap and/or heat when used in combination with this type of conditioners is known to have salutary effect.
Silicone products
Silicone products help smooth down the cuticle and make it appear smoother. Your neighborhood drug stores or saloons will be dispensing several lines of silicone smoothers. These are applied to freshly shampooed hair while still wet and then blow dried or air dried. A diffuser – a tool attached to the end of the blow dryer to diffuse the heat along a larger area instead of concentrating in one space can be of immense help when you have dry hair. |
