Hair Products | What is best for you?

Hair care products have become a necessity for everyone.  Products that satisfy a variety of hair styles are available and that help curly, straight, ethnic, Black and African-American, colored and treated, thin and thick.  Hair products also address specific and common problems such as hair loss, frizziness, breakage, oily, dry, dandruff and thinning. 

The two basic hair products are shampoos and conditioners.  Shampoos and conditioners are used by all.  There are various types of shampoos and conditioners in the market.  The following are guide questions that may help you decide when buying the right shampoo and conditioner:

• Do you have color treated hair? - You need to buy a special shampoo and conditioner that can help hydrate and prolong the life of your color.
• Do you have very dry or coarse hair? - You may need to get an extra conditioning in the shampoos and conditioners you are currently using.
• Do you have dandruff or dry scalp?  - You need a medicated shampoo or shampoo/conditioner combination. Try a dandruff shampoo formulated to remove dandruff, cleanse and moisturize the scalp.
• Do you use styling products? - You may need a clarifying, deep-cleansing shampoo and use it once in awhile to get rid of product build-up.
• Do you have thin hair? - Volumizing shampoo and conditioner will not weigh you down.
• Do you have thinning hair? - Buy shampoos, conditioners and hair vitamins designed for those with thinning hair. Mild shampoos are recommended.
