Dry hair treatments - Should you shampoo? Many people believe that because they have dry hair they should not shampoo and that could be the furthest thing from true that there is. Everyone should use a dry hair shampoo and use hair products but more importantly it matters which shampoo that you use. Many of today's shampoos are simply surfactants that strip hair of everything including the oils that the scalp and hair needs. This oil keeps hair from being frizzy and dry.
The shampoos that you want to use should not strip hair but instead should keep hair healthy by actually providing moisture to get hair to the ultimate moisture level in the hair shaft itself. One of the best oils to use on your hair is jojoba oil. This oil does a good job of cleansing away dirt and getting rid of stubborn sebum that causes hair follicles to be closed in. I strongly suggest using a shampoo that has jojoba oil and also emu oil and both do an amazing job for putting moisture back in to the hair. Emu oil when used for dry hair can be heavy so we don't use a lot in our shampoo or conditioner and while jojoba oil is much lighter we still use a small amount as to not weight down the hair at all.
