Color-Enhancing Shampoo
Extend the life of Color Treatments
Getting your hair colored can be costly and time consuming. Most color treatments last 4-6 weeks and begin to fade some more rapidly that others depending on the brand your stylist uses.
Color loss can be complicated by dryness or loss of moisture. Cellular sheath proteins separate when dry or when they have lost significant hydration. The dryness leaves microscopic spaces between the cells of the follicle shaft and reduce the "plumpness" of the cuticle.
During shampooing pigmentation from the coloring is more easily washed away reducing the life of a color treatment.
A color-enhancing shampoo, while not a replacement for a professional treatment, can extend the life of your coloring and add hydration for more intense hues and softer, more manageable hair.
Color-Enhancing Shampoo - For Brighter, Healthier and more Vibrant Color
We recommend several products for color treated hair. First a color-enhancing shampoo adds pigment and infuses moisture to improve the color while increasing nutrition - giving you twice the benefit towards color extension. Secondly, using a sealer helps stabilize sheath cells and locks in color while improving shine and vibrance.
Finally, using a product to help keep color and pigmentation in check. Hair shampoo like Keeping The Color is designed with gentle surfactants that are not harsh and do not dry or increase weakness.
Generally, a color-enhancing shampoo should be used alternating with Keeping The Color. This allows for maximum extension of your color treatment while thickening and adding body. A transparent sealing conditioner can be used on days when the enhancing shampoo is used to protect and lock in color.
Color-enhancing shampoos most often extend color for about 3 days per application. You will generally get a month's worth of color maintenance per container giving you 30-45 days before a professional color treatment is required (if desired). |
